About the Science Discovery Group
The Science Discovery Group was started in 1992 under the aegis of the Women’s Institute with a government grant to encourage women to take an interest in science.
Over the years, it has developed and now welcomes everybody.
It was initially organised and run by Val Swarbrick and Thelma Burridge until 2013 when the current organising group took over.
All aspects of science are covered and the organising group welcomes suggestions of topics and speakers.
The organising group are:
Sarah Randall; John Simpson; Keith Lawson, Dorothy Lawson and Tony Stimson
